8/15/21

I take wisdom and inspiration from wherever I find it. I'm a Catholic Buddhist whose current spiritual home is an ELCA Lutheran church with a pastor who's just as comfortable using her love of DnD in her reflections as she is her passion for social justice and equality.

Today was the first in-person service they've had since the pandemic began, and it was nice to be back. Everyone who came was masked and socially distanced, and the theme perfectly fit the moment, both lamenting the suffering and hardships we've had to endure and celebrating the sense of hope and community that has helped keep us going.

One of the aspects of Christianity I find the most meaningful is the communalism underlying it. It's all about being united as one and caring for one another. And despite being an introverted person who enjoys being alone, we're still a social species and there's something powerful about the bonds we share. It just felt really good to be there today.
